Specific areas of experience and capability include:

 

Engineering Studies

 

A large part of our practice deals with the performance of engineering studies and preparation of engineering reports. We pay particular attention to the preparation of studies and reports, recognizing that such work requires specialized expertise somewhat different from that required for detail design work.

 

Drawings and Specifications

 

In the preparation of plans and specifications, standard procedures for quality control have been developed and automated specifications are regularly used. As drawings are prepared using Computer-Aided Drafting and Design software, standardized checking procedures are employed to maintain quality control.

 

Project Manuals

 

In the preparation of project manuals, standard procedures for quality control have been maintained by the development of over many guide technical specifications sections for use on our projects. These guide specifications are available for our design teams on a local area network.

 

Field Consultation during Construction

 

On the majority of design projects, we also provide engineering services during construction. In many cases, resident services are also provided. Consultation by lead design personnel during construction is a normal practice provided on most design projects.

 

Construction Management Services

 

From conception through completion, our firm offers a broad range of professional expertise in the area of construction management. On numerous projects, varying in size from small to extremely large and complex, our firm has provided assistance to client in-house staff and/or assumed total project management during the construction phase. Complete consultation during the design phase can provide the correct coordination of administration, financial and cost control elements, bidding and contracting for suppliers and subcontractors, expediting, site management coordination, start-up and testing, and other basic services associated with construction management as part of a total integrated project management system.

 

Final Record Drawings

 

The preparation of final record drawings is also carried out on the majority of our design projects. These drawings are prepared from field-marked information provided by either our resident engineer or by other personnel representing the client.

 

Value Engineering

 

It has long been our practice to carry out economic trade-off studies on alternative details of design during the design process. The technique of functional analysis by team effort known as Value Engineering has been developed to further refine the economic studies performed during design. These studies are staffed by our design professionals from all disciplines who have experience and participated on many Value Engineering teams.

 

Quality Control

 

During our nine years of offering diversified multidisciplinary professional consulting services, it has been our practice to pay close attention to the management of technical effort and quality control. Our matrix management system is sufficiently flexible to adapt to each client’s requirements and to promote the production of quality designs.

 

Familiarity with Contracting Procedures

 

HS and Associates has negotiated numerous contracts with different bodies and agencies. We are extensively familiar with the processes of proposals, negotiations, contracting, and developing working relationships with these agencies.

 

Continuing Professional Development

 Hani Al Sahooly and Associates is registered as a professional multidisciplinary consulting firm with most major governmental and regulatory agencies in Yemen as a professional consulting services firm, Hani Al Sahooly and Associates is dedicated to the management of technical efforts which best represent the interests of our clients ,our professional and technical staff members participate in management and communication courses, seminars, and other educational activities to improve communication, interpersonal relationships, and the overall management of professional and technical efforts for clients.

Recently Hani Al Sahooly and Associates has a full-time staff of over 40 qualified experienced professional, technical, and support staff members representing the major disciplines in the fields of engineering, architecture, environmental sciences, planning, management, and economics. The firm is completely member- owned.

Most of the members carry professional registrations has a technical team of professional architects, engineers, planners, experts in the fields of the company's specializations as shown in the table of the key staff, supported by technicians, administrative, accounts and other support staff.

Other than the permanent staff HS & Associates has access to associate consultants qualified in various specialized fields (management, institutional and community development, economics and finance, information, communication technology) with local / national expertise of the highest standard.

All the permanent professionals, technical and administrative staff perform their work using computers and latest professional software CAD and Database Systems; Structural, Civil - Surveying, water supply, sewer systems, road CAD land development, GIS ARCHVIEW, etc. and the main office software is Microsoft office, (Word, Excel, Access, Front Page, Outlook and PowerPoint).

THE FINANCIAL SITUATION

The company witnessed in the year 2005 dramatic and massive changes and developments on basis of volumes and type of works, which positively affected in rise of the financial situation level, the total overturn value of the projects in all sectors of activities and specializations in 2005 exceeded two hundred millions Yemeni Rails, compared with one hundred and twenty for the year 2004.

As for recent year 2006, the company goes with a remarkable development in volume & quality of works in new sectors that is expected to raise the financial situation to a ratio of 56 % in 2005.

The actual indications for the rise in existing situation level in the company are the values of assets which reached last year nearly to (12,426,000) Yemeni Rails in Sana'a, Taiz branches and the headquarter office in Aden.

Compared to the total values (9,875,000) Yemeni Rails as assets values in establishment year 1998. The table shown below, shows income ratios, expenditures and their distribution as ratios on operation expenditures.
